We don't collect anything

That is the whole policy. The rest of this page explains how that can be true, and what it means for you.

What we collect

Nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no email addresses, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party scripts of any kind. We do not know who you are, how many of you there are, or that you visited.

How that's possible

School Skills is a static website. Every page is a file, served as-is — there is no application server, no database, and nothing for your child's answers to be sent to. When they finish a race, the result is written to your own browser's storage on your own device. It does not leave it.

What's stored on your device

Player profiles (a name you choose, an emoji, a colour and an age), and the history of races played: times, scores, and which facts were answered right or wrong. This is kept in your browser's IndexedDB storage.

You control it completely. Clearing your browser's site data deletes all of it permanently, and deleting a player in the app removes that player and every race they ran. Because we never receive any of it, we cannot restore it — which is why the app offers a backup file you keep yourself.

Children

This site is intended for children and the adults helping them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect personal information at all — including the persistent identifiers (advertising IDs, analytics IDs, tracking cookies) that children's privacy law treats as personal information.

The name you type for a player is stored only in your browser. We suggest a first name or nickname; nothing checks it, and nothing transmits it.

Cookies

We don't set any. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Hosting

The site is served from Amazon CloudFront. Like any web host, its servers process the standard request information needed to deliver a page — your IP address, browser type and the file requested — in short-lived operational logs. We do not use this to identify or track anyone, and it is never combined with anything from the app.

Advertising

There are no ads on this site today. If that ever changes, this page will be updated before any advertising code is added, and the change will be dated here.

Last updated 12 August 2026. Material changes will be reflected in that date.
